New hire underscores eMM’s expanding U.S. footprint and its long-term dedication to the American marketplace
eMedia Monitor (eMM), a broadcast intelligence platform and worldwide frontrunner in live radio, TV, and online video and audio monitoring, has unveiled the appointment of Larry Thomas as Vice President, Americas. Bringing on a seasoned senior public relations and marketing technology executive signals eMM’s ongoing investment in the U.S., where it has established a television, radio, and podcast monitoring infrastructure spanning all 210 DMAs and 50 states, and represents the next phase in broadening its commercial reach across North and South America.
Thomas brings over twenty years of experience in building and expanding media intelligence and PR technology enterprises within the U.S. His most recent role involved heading U.S. business development at UNICEPTA, following growth leadership at Talkwalker prior to its acquisition by Hootsuite, as well as at Bulletin Intelligence both before and after its purchase by Cision. Earlier, he served as a founding executive and president of MultiVu, PR Newswire’s video PR arm, and later held the position of COO at Medialink Worldwide, a NASDAQ-listed broadcast PR and media technology firm, where he played a key role in launching Teletrax, a content-verification initiative developed with Philips.
In his new capacity, Thomas will steer eMM’s expansion strategy throughout the Americas, placing a stronger emphasis on detailed, local-market coverage across the U.S. while also growing its clientele among U.S. communications and data analytics professionals. This push is supported by enhanced marketing, customer success, and research teams. The expansion also enables U.S. clients to streamline by working with a single provider, giving them the choice to combine their international requirements with their U.S. coverage under one offering with uniform methodologies and metrics, thereby eliminating the expense and hassle of handling multiple vendors. As an AI-first organization, eMM integrates AI across its monitoring and analysis processes, organizing its data so clients can effortlessly incorporate it into their own AI systems and workflows.
Larry Thomas, Vice President, Americas, eMedia Monitor: “My career has been dedicated to helping global media intelligence companies establish and scale their U.S. operations, and I’m eager to apply that expertise to eMM at such a crucial moment in its American journey. There’s a significant chance to provide U.S. organizations with the kind of thorough, cross-border broadcast insights that have frequently been absent from their resources, and I look forward to making that happen.”
Thomas Netousek, Founder and CEO, eMedia Monitor and board member of the International Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC): “Larry has built U.S. operations for several of the most esteemed names in media intelligence, and he has a solid history of converting that foundation into sustained growth. Bringing his expertise in-house marks a major milestone in our U.S. strategy, and we’re excited to have him at the helm.”
eMM’s network currently includes 1,811 television and radio channels and 55,800 podcasts in the U.S., a number that grows on a weekly basis. This is part of the company’s broader global reach, which encompasses over 4,500 broadcast channels and more than 130,000 podcasts across 94 countries and 42 languages, all monitored in real time, 24 hours a day, with the capability to review up to 4 million podcasts. Brands and organizations interested in tracking or uncovering trends in U.S. broadcast, radio, and podcast content can contact eMedia Monitor to explore how the company might assist them.
