TITLE: Z-TEXT launches public zk-SNARKs messenger with no phone or SIM needed
CATEGORY: Data Privacy
SUMMARY: Z-TEXT released a privacy messenger on the BitcoinZ blockchain that uses zk-SNARKs and requires no phone number, email, or SIM card.
A single 24-word seed grants access to five tools: messenger, wallet, password manager, Channels, and disposable identity.

An active Z-TEXT message visible on the BitcoinZ blockchain explorer: a shielded transaction with 58 confirmations, verifiable on-chain.

Shielded messenger, wallet, password manager and Channels on the BitcoinZ blockchain. No KYC. Post-quantum handshake. Messages no one can read or erase.
A whistleblower, a journalist, anyone who needs to speak without being silenced shouldn't have to trust a company. The math should protect them, not a privacy policy.”— eric pierrotSHERIDAN, WY, UNITED STATES, October 5, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Z-TEXT, a privacy-focused messaging application built atop the BitcoinZ blockchain, is now accessible for download without requiring a phone number, email address, SIM card, or KYC verification. Identities are derived from a seed phrase and can be thrown away and swapped out at any moment. Zero-knowledge proofs conceal who is communicating with whom, while the blockchain ensures each message persists indefinitely rather than being subject to a forced deletion timeline.
Each message is protected using zk-SNARKs. These zero-knowledge proofs enable the blockchain to verify a message is legitimate without disclosing the sender, receiver, or content. Message data is encrypted on the sender's device prior to transmission. Z-TEXT does not possess the decryption keys needed to access it.
Many messaging platforms present deletion as a safety benefit. However, deleting a file rarely eliminates it completely, as the data frequently remains on a hard drive or server. Z-TEXT's messaging infrastructure operates on a decentralized blockchain and does not depend on any single corporate-owned message server. The firm calls this approach "shielded permanence": sufficiently private that nobody can read a message, and sufficiently permanent that nobody can remove it.
Z-TEXT merges five capabilities on a single blockchain: a messenger, a BTCZ wallet, an on-chain password manager, a broadcast tool called Channels, and a disposable identity system. Each identity corresponds to its own 24-word seed. That single seed activates all five features, with no separate account needed for any of them.
The messenger relies on three cryptographic layers:
the BitcoinZ blockchain, providing decentralization and permanence;
zk-SNARKs, ensuring privacy;
post-quantum cryptography (ML-KEM-768, active since version 3.7.0), safeguarding the encryption handshake against future quantum computers.
Sending one message costs roughly 0.0002 BTCZ. This amount includes a small network fee plus 0.0001 BTCZ sent to the recipient, which is returned when the recipient replies. During a typical back-and-forth exchange, the effective cost is around 0.0001 BTCZ per message.
BitcoinZ's genesis block was mined in September 2017. The network employs GPU-friendly mining rather than demanding specialized ASIC hardware. An independent security audit of the BitcoinZ full node, released in June 2026, found no method to counterfeit or inflate the coin supply.
Z-TEXT does not issue BTCZ or govern the BitcoinZ blockchain. The company operates without venture capital backing. Z-TEXT also maintains an active bug bounty program, which continues beyond the launch. The bounty is paid in ZEC from a public pool verifiable on-chain, and one reward has been distributed so far.
"I believe in zk-SNARKs the way some people believe in free speech itself," said Eric Pierrot, founder of Z-TEXT. "A whistleblower, a journalist, anyone who needs to speak without being silenced shouldn't have to trust a company. The math should protect them, not a privacy policy."
Z-TEXT is available now for Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux at z-text.com, with an iOS version coming to the App Store. Wallet functionality and reading previously stored data are free and require no license. A license enabling messaging, the password manager, Channels, and identity creation begins at three dollars for one month, payable in several major cryptocurrencies.
About Z-TEXT
Z-TEXT is a privacy messenger, wallet, password manager, and broadcast platform built on the BitcoinZ blockchain. The company does not issue BTCZ, does not control the BitcoinZ blockchain, and operates without venture capital funding. Using zero-knowledge proofs and post-quantum cryptography, Z-TEXT requires no phone number, email, SIM card, or identity verification to use.
