Most AI website builders will happily invent a glowing review or a decades-long track record to fill in the blanks — but that’s exactly the problem TruLata is trying to solve with its new tool. The company’s freshly launched Website Builder by TruLata is designed to do the opposite: it writes nothing it can’t back up with a real source, which is a meaningful departure in a space where fabricated credentials are a known hazard.

It makes a small business website in minutes and holds every sentence to a source. Free to build, and on Product Hunt Tuesday, October 27.
An owner should never find out their own website made something up. Ours only writes what it can point to.— Trace Gordon, founder of TruLata
WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, October 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The launch comes as small business owners increasingly rely on AI to generate their web presence, often discovering too late that the content includes fabricated experience, ratings, or guarantees. Website Builder by TruLata, now available at Website Builder by TruLata, flips that script: a business owner answers a handful of questions or supplies an existing site, and the tool produces a first draft in minutes. Crucially, every sentence is traceable to a specific origin — the owner’s own responses, their current website, or their Google Business Profile. Building and editing cost nothing, and no credit card is required.
AI website builders tend to fill gaps with invented experience, ratings and guarantees, and the owner is often the last to find out. Website Builder by TruLata does not write what it cannot point to. Reviews are reproduced verbatim from actual customers. Any claims about results, guarantees, or awards are held for review by a TruLata team member before going live. If an owner asks for a rating they haven’t provided, the assistant asks where it came from.
“Every AI website builder we tried would happily write that a business has 20 years of experience and a 4.9 rating,” said Trace Gordon, founder of TruLata. “An owner should never find out their own website made something up. Ours only writes what it can point to, and building is free, so any owner can see their first version today.”
Getting started takes an email address
Owners sign in via a link sent to their email — no password needed. The builder asks for the business name, offerings, service area, and contact details, though every question can be skipped. A name alone is enough to generate a first version. Adding details later — a logo, photos, customer workflow, preferred style, or industry-specific phrasing — refines the result.
For those who already have a website, the builder can take its address, read the content, preserve the owner’s wording and imagery, and set up redirects so old links continue to function. When TruLata manages a business’s Google Business Profile, its hours, photos, and reviews are imported exactly as they appear.
Built for any kind of business
The builder accommodates local services, online shops, and artists alike. If there’s no phone number, every Call button becomes Email or a message form. If there’s a town but no street address, the site states the business’s location and omits maps and directions. Example sites generated from fictional businesses’ answers are available on TruLata’s site for more than twenty trades, including roofers, plumbers, HVAC companies, dentists, chiropractors, law firms, landscapers, bakeries, nonprofits, churches, and real estate agents.
Editing is clicking, adding or asking
– Click any words on the page and type. Drop in photos from a phone, and click a photo to swap it.
– Add blocks from a library of thirty in nine groups, including prices, opening hours, steps, video, a map, online booking and downloads.
– Change the header, footer, colors and lettering.
– Or ask in plain words, such as “make the menu dark” or “add a section on how it works,” and the assistant makes the change.
– Every change can be undone, and the site checks itself before anything reaches visitors.
– People with an owner or admin seat at the business can edit and publish; a member seat can look without changing anything.
Going live and getting leads
Each site gets its own preview address while the owner works on it. To publish, the owner selects a plan, adds the single record the builder shows them where their domain is managed, and presses Go live. The site activates with a secure certificate and becomes visible to search engines. Every message sent through the site’s contact form lands in TruLata, and owners who want their entire marketing operation on one screen can view those leads alongside their search, ads, and reviews.
Pricing and availability
Website Builder by TruLata is available today at https://trulata.com/product/sites/builder. Building and editing are free, with no card required. Going live on the owner’s own address is $49 a month, or $39 a month billed yearly ($468), and it can be cancelled any time from Billing and receipts. Through October 31, the code PRODUCTHUNT makes the first month of the monthly plan free.

Why it matters: For small business owners, the cost of an AI-generated website that fabricates credentials isn’t just embarrassment — it’s a credibility risk that can drive away customers and invite scrutiny. TruLata’s source-locked approach offers a practical alternative that keeps the speed of AI without sacrificing trust, potentially setting a new expectation for what AI tools should verify before they publish.
