Our mission is to deliver accurate, timely cybersecurity reporting that helps professionals, organizations, and individuals protect themselves in an increasingly hostile digital environment. We translate complex technical topics into clear, actionable journalism without sacrificing depth or precision. Every piece we publish serves this commitment to informed security.
Accuracy and Fact-Checking
Accuracy is paramount in cybersecurity reporting, where misinformation can cause both unnecessary panic and dangerous complacency. All technical claims, vulnerability details, attribution statements, and statistics must be verified before publication. Our editors conduct independent technical review on every piece. When threat attribution or impact assessments involve uncertainty, we state that uncertainty clearly. We do not publish unverified claims about active vulnerabilities or threat actors.
Independence and Integrity
Editorial independence is non-negotiable. Our coverage, tool evaluations, and editorial decisions are never influenced by vendor relationships, advertising agreements, or corporate partnerships. Writers and editors must disclose any financial or professional relationships with companies covered in their work. We do not accept payment for product reviews or coverage. Sponsored content, when it exists, is clearly labeled and separated from editorial content.
Corrections Policy
We take errors seriously, particularly in a field where inaccurate reporting can have operational consequences. When we identify or are notified of a factual or technical error in published content, we investigate promptly. Confirmed errors are corrected in the original article with a clear correction notice indicating what was changed and when. Significant corrections are noted at the top of the article. Responsible Disclosure and Ethical Coverage
We follow responsible disclosure practices when reporting on vulnerabilities and security flaws. We coordinate with researchers and affected vendors before publishing technical details of unpatched vulnerabilities. We do not publish exploit code, detailed attack instructions, or information that would primarily serve malicious actors. When covering data breaches, we balance the public’s right to know with the potential harm of exposing sensitive details. We treat affected individuals and organizations fairly and seek comment from all relevant parties before publication.
Attribution and Sources
We properly attribute all information to its source. When we reference research, advisories, or reporting by other organizations, we credit them clearly. We do not plagiarize or misrepresent the origins of threat intelligence. When using confidential sources, we require corroboration through at least one additional source and ensure that editors are aware of the source’s identity. We honor agreements about source confidentiality, which is especially critical in the security community.
