Excelsior University’s first doctoral program opens to enrollment

The newly launched Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program broadens Excelsior’s academic portfolio and offers accomplished professionals a route to the pinnacle of business education. Excelsior’s academic offerings and provides experienced professionals with a pathway to the highest level of business education.

Tailored for individuals balancing careers and study, the DBA features flexible online coursework paired with two short, high-impact in-person residencies. These immersive sessions take place in Excelsior's home cities of Albany, New York, and St. Petersburg, Florida, delivering valuable opportunities for in-person networking, mentorship, and research guidance. The curriculum provides deep expertise in business theories, research methodologies, and evidence-based practices, equipping graduates to emerge as leaders in their sectors. Students may select from DBA concentrations in Cybersecurity Operations, Data Analytics, Enterprise Risk Management, Finance and Accounting, Healthcare Management, Organizational Leadership, and Strategic Sustainability.

Established in 1971 with a mission to widen educational access, Excelsior has assisted over 200,000 individuals in earning associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees. The addition of the DBA program marks the next phase in Excelsior's ongoing growth.

To be eligible, applicants must hold a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, possess at least five years of professional experience, and have experience managing people and/or projects.
