LILLE, FRANCE, July 23, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Gravitee™, the AI agent management platform, today revealed a strategic alliance with Clever Cloud, the French cloud provider, to introduce a sovereign control plane for AI running entirely on European infrastructure.

This collaboration merges Gravitee’s AI Gateway and Authorization Management with Clever Cloud’s French platform. The result gives European public bodies and regulated enterprises a secure framework to oversee their AI consumption and output, without locking their architecture into a single AI model or legal jurisdiction.

The timing is urgent. On June 12, 2026, a U.S. government export control directive forced the suspension of two cutting-edge AI models for foreign nationals worldwide. Those models were accessible in the morning and gone by evening for all customers, with no transition period. This marks the first time a government has broadly deactivated a live, commercial, state-of-the-art AI model, fundamentally reshaping the definition of AI sovereignty: a model may operate in an approved region on compliant infrastructure, yet still be disabled instantly based on user access restrictions.

This is not an isolated event. In 2024, OpenAI cut off ChatGPT and its API for users in China, Russia, and Iran, responding to U.S. export limits with roughly two weeks’ notice. The June 2026 Anthropic suspension eliminated that warning period entirely: models were live in the morning and deactivated that evening for all affected users worldwide.
