A collaboration between Olmsted Medical Center (OMC) and Enara Health was revealed today, aimed at widening access to obesity medicine led by physicians for patients in Rochester, Minnesota. This alliance, called Enara at Olmsted Medical Center, introduces a virtual, personalized care model that works alongside Olmsted Medical Center’s WHOLEyou program, thereby broadening the obesity care spectrum available across southeastern Minnesota.
WHOLEyou operates on a Shared Medical Appointment structure — organized group sessions that blend clinical knowledge, nutritional advice, and peer encouragement — underscoring Olmsted Medical Center’s longstanding view of obesity as a chronic illness. This new partnership expands that philosophy by offering a virtual, one-on-one pathway for patients who favor individual sessions or encounter obstacles to attending in person.
Across its national network of partners, Enara Health has achieved one of the strongest outcome records in outpatient obesity medicine via a virtual, single-patient clinical approach. Together, WHOLEyou and Enara at Olmsted Medical Center create a genuine spectrum of care: individuals can select between the two options based on personal preference and medical suitability, all while remaining within Olmsted Medical Center’s system. Clinicians at any of the 25 OMC sites can directly refer patients to the Enara program.
From the very start, every participant in the program receives a committed team — comprising physicians specializing in obesity medicine, exercise specialists, nutrition experts, and behavioral health professionals — all coordinating from a single, shared treatment plan. The Enara app keeps that team accessible between appointments. Care plans are designed first, with medication introduced when the clinical situation warrants it.
Most major insurance plans accepted at Olmsted Medical Center — including UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Partners, Medica, Aetna, and Medicare — cover this program in-network, allowing many patients to access this specialized care as part of their insurance benefits.
