Prop 38 aims to allocate $8.4 billion in essential funding to drive forward groundbreaking immunology medical research, with the goal of preventing and treating cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and other chronic and severe conditions that touch nearly every family in California.
The PPIC Californians and Their Government survey, conducted from September 4–10, 2026, assessed voter opinions on the upcoming November election, legislative measures, citizen initiatives, and both state and national matters.
“California voters recognize the enormous stakes for patients and families dealing with serious illnesses,” stated Robin Swanson, spokesperson for YES on Proposition 38. “Amid federal funding cuts for vital research that are causing delays in scientific and medical progress, this poll demonstrates that a strong majority of likely voters support YES on Prop 38 to further immunology and immunotherapy research, which will result in treatments and breakthrough cures, ultimately saving more lives.”
