TrellisWare Successfully Demonstrates Mission-Proven Networking in Support of U.S. Army NGC2

TrellisWare Technologies, Inc., a worldwide frontrunner in tactical communications, announced today that it has effectively showcased cutting-edge communication capabilities in support of the U.S. Army’s Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) modernization drive. TrellisWare personnel assisted with over 1,100 radios equipped with its TSM® waveform that were used during Project Convergence Capstone 6 (PCC6). Radios running TSM supported the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, coalition partners from New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Canada, and a distinct U.S. SGT Stout Air Defense unit.

The TSM-powered radios employed during PCC6 included a varied assortment of eight form factors—from High Assurance multi-channel manpacks and handheld units to single-channel Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) handheld radios, high-output vehicular radio heads, and an embedded module carried on a loitering communications relay drone.

As the Army updates its C2 framework to satisfy emerging operational demands, network flexibility and dependability stay essential. In these demonstrations, TrellisWare’s waveform technologies facilitated adaptable, robust communications across permissive through heavily contested scenarios, including extended communication reach via UAS between large formations.

Major technical and operational achievements demonstrated included:
• Wideband Scalability and Throughput — TrellisWare has rolled out HDR+ for its TSM Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) waveform, achieving over 50 Mbps throughput while maintaining scalable networks composed of more than 800 nodes in intricate operational settings.
• Spectrum Agility for Constrained Environments — Under limited spectrum conditions, the TSM waveform can shrink to run inside 1.2 MHz channels, ensuring solid networking in crowded or spectrum-limited areas.
• Modern Anti-Jam (A/J) Resiliency — To counter evolving electronic warfare threats, the trials highlighted TrellisWare’s Katana™ waveforms, engineered to offer consistent, uninterrupted connectivity despite advanced adversarial jamming.
• Broad-Spectrum SDR Architecture — TrellisWare’s software-defined radios (SDRs) deliver more than 1.5 GHz of total usable spectrum across UHF, L-band, and S-band frequencies in a single radio design, providing greater spectrum flexibility while lessening the equipment load on warfighters and tactical platforms.
• Multi-Nation, Multi-Vendor, Multi-Security-Level Interoperability — TrellisWare’s distinct multi-vendor, multi-security SDR-based ecosystem was utilized to create interoperability between U.S. and allied forces operating radios from various vendors at differing security levels.
