AlphaBravo’s SBIR Phase III contract extension leverages its Kubernetes fleet and lifecycle management platform to accelerate combat system software delivery to naval forces.
FREDERICK, MD, UNITED STATES, July 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — AlphaBravo, a veteran-owned small enterprise focused on defense platform engineering and DevSecOps, revealed today that it has been granted a task order through its Navy Basic Ordering Agreement. The objective is to embed Tools Platform as a Service (TPaaS) capabilities into Pioneer, AlphaBravo’s Kubernetes fleet and lifecycle management platform. This initiative aims to facilitate the streamlined deployment of Integrated Combat System (ICS) software across the Fleet.
This task order advances AlphaBravo’s partnership with Naval Surface Warfare Center under an SBIR Phase III initiative, building upon technologies refined and proven during the company’s SBIR Phase II award with Navy PEO Integrated Warfare Systems.
Presently, deploying and maintaining combat system software throughout the Fleet demands considerable manual engineering resources. Container images require rigorous hardening and validation. Baselines must remain uniform across vessels and shore installations. Updates need to reach platforms that function in disconnected environments for prolonged periods. Pioneer tackles these obstacles through automated fleet-wide lifecycle management, integrated compliance documentation, and delivery processes tailored for air-gapped and contested settings.
As part of this task order, AlphaBravo will directly incorporate TPaaS features into Pioneer, providing Navy program teams with an all-in-one platform to construct, harden, distribute, and manage containerized combat system software from the development phase to the shipboard environment.
“Sailors and program offices should not have to combine a dozen different tools just to get software to the Fleet,” stated Chad Serino, CEO and Founder of AlphaBravo. “This integration places the entire pipeline within a single system. Build it, harden it, deliver it, run it, wherever the mission takes you. That is what simplified deployment truly means.”
This undertaking aligns with the Navy’s wider initiative to achieve faster, more uniform software delivery for integrated combat systems, while also extending a capability currently utilized in an active Department of Defense weapon system program of record.
