CardSight AI Hits 10,000 Identifiable Trading Card Sets With Soccer Addition and Fastest Response Times

–

CardSight, the company's identification tool, now covers soccer and graded slab certificate numbers, with average response times under 400 milliseconds.

“While most trading card identification platforms slow down and become pricier as their set count grows, CardSight has surpassed 10,000 sets while maintaining an average response time below 400 milliseconds.”— Eric Nusbaum, Co-Founder and CEO of CardSight AIPORTLAND, ME, UNITED STATES, October 5, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — CardSight AI, Inc., the infrastructure platform for trading cards, revealed today that its identification product, CardSight, now recognizes soccer trading cards. With soccer card identification now operational, CardSight can recognize more than 10,000 unique sets across all supported sports & TCG categories, achieving an average response time of under 400 milliseconds.

This benchmark coincides with a new feature for graded cards: CardSight now pulls the certificate number when recognizing a graded slab. Combined, these updates represent a goal CardSight AI has pursued since its initial baseball offering in January. The company now delivers the quickest, most precise, and most transparent trading card identification available, at a scale no rival has been willing to quantify.

Soccer joins CardSight

As the world's most popular sport, soccer boasts trading cards collected across every continent. CardSight debuts with over 1,000 soccer sets from the last ten years—the era collectors term ultra-modern—including products from Topps and Panini. Additional soccer sets are added on a weekly basis.
Soccer poses a significant challenge for any AI-driven identification system. A single player may appear for both club and country within the same season, wearing different uniforms, across releases tied to domestic leagues, continental tournaments, and international competitions. Ultra-modern sets feature extended runs of parallels and serial-numbered variations that differ solely by color or finish. CardSight processes soccer cards just as it does all other categories. It accepts a standard photo, captured at any angle, containing up to nine trading cards, and identifies every one.

For developers, soccer requires no additional integration work. Apps currently leveraging CardSight for sports cards or Pokémon identification automatically gain soccer card recognition via the same sports card API, using the same API key and subscription plan.

10,000 sets, under 400 milliseconds

Identification becomes more complex as it expands. Every set supported by an AI system adds another option to differentiate. For most providers, this translates to slower responses and rising maintenance costs with each coverage increase.

CardSight AI engineered CardSight to sidestep this compromise. Coverage has climbed from 8,000 sets in September to over 10,000 today, encompassing baseball, football, basketball, hockey, MMA, and soccer on the sports side, along with Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and One Piece for trading card games. Across this entire range, CardSight responds in under 400 milliseconds on average at 99.5% accuracy. Each request also accomplishes more than before, including extracting the certificate number from a graded slab.

This blend of scope, speed, and precision stems from deliberate system design and the engineering team responsible. CardSight was built so that introducing a new category does not burden existing ones. New releases become identifiable within days of hitting store shelves, with no extra work required from the builder. The 10,000th set is recognized just as quickly as the first.

The number other providers do not publish

CardSight AI openly publishes the total number of sets CardSight can identify, and developers can verify support for a specific set via the API before writing any code. The company knows of no other trading card identification provider that discloses this figure at all.

Builders selecting an identification partner should demand this number. Coverage determines whether an app recognizes the card a collector actually holds, and an app that stumbles on a favorite set rarely gets a second chance. A provider confident in its coverage has no reason to hide the figure.

Certificate numbers from graded slabs

CardSight already identifies graded slabs from leading grading services, including PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC, and TAG, and returns both the grading company and the grade. It now also returns the certificate number.

An app can capture a single photo of a slab and receive the trading card, grade, and certificate number as structured data, ready to attach to inventory records, include in listings, or cross-reference with the grading company's database. No manual entry of lengthy numbers or correction of typos is needed. For marketplaces, vaults, consignment firms, and card shops processing slabs in bulk, this eliminates one of the most time-consuming steps in intake.

"Most trading card identification systems get slower and more expensive with every set they add. CardSight just crossed 10,000 sets and still answers in under 400 milliseconds," said Eric Nusbaum, Co-Founder and CEO of CardSight AI. "This is a checkered flag moment for us, and the credit goes to our architecture and to the team that built it. We publish our numbers because we are proud of them. Any builder evaluating identification should ask every provider how many sets they support, and notice who answers."

Availability

Soccer card identification and graded card certificate number extraction are now live through the CardSight AI API for all CardSight AI subscribers, including free-tier accounts. CardSight operates alongside the CardSight AI trading card catalog and transparent market data, giving builders identification, catalog, and pricing from one source, with SDKs for Node.js, Python, Swift, Java, and .NET, plus MCP endpoints for AI agents.
