The AI era demands not just more AI specialists, but stronger leaders who can recognize opportunities, grasp the implications, and make wiser choices.”— Akhil Handa

MUMBAI, MAHARASTRA, INDIA, August 31, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — EARTH 51 has broadened its Responsible and Ethical AI leadership efforts to India, teaming up with the Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai), alongside Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and NVIDIA, to help train the upcoming cohort of business leaders for the AI era.

Held at IIM Mumbai on 28 August 2026, the session gathered MBA students and faculty to tackle a fast-growing business necessity: AI is no longer just a technological function—it is a leadership function.

This move represents the next phase in EARTH 51’s mission to cultivate Responsible AI competencies within academic and professional circles. Earlier in the year, EARTH 51 collaborated with the University of Reading in the UK on a Responsible AI initiative that engaged over 1,000 students within 100 days. India emerges as a logical next destination. As one of the world’s foremost technology and talent hubs, its future business leaders will heavily influence how AI is embraced, regulated, and expanded.

At IIM Mumbai, EARTH 51 urged participants to go beyond AI tools and examine the broader decisions tied to their application—spanning business value and productivity to governance, workforce effects, sustainability, and trust.

At the heart of the programme was EARTH 51’s SAFER framework – Sustainability, Accountability, Fairness, Explainability and Resilience – designed to guide leaders in making improved choices regarding AI development, deployment, and usage.

“AI is advancing faster than organizations, regulations, and leadership can keep pace. That creates immense opportunity, but also immense duty. We are honored to partner with IIM Mumbai, HPE, and NVIDIA to help prepare the next generation of leaders not just to use AI, but to make smarter decisions about it. India has a chance not only to be part of the AI era, but to help define it.”

– Akhil Handa, Founder & CEO, EARTH 51

The effort combines IIM Mumbai’s academic leadership, HPE and NVIDIA’s worldwide technology knowledge, and EARTH 51’s expertise in Responsible AI, sustainability, and future-focused leadership.

For EARTH 51, the vision extends beyond a single programme or institution. As AI integrates into every sector, Responsible AI must move beyond technology and risk departments and become a core component of mainstream business leadership.

The upcoming leaders will not merely work with AI. They will determine what we do with it.
