Microsoft customers can now use PosturePass to verify contractor and BYOD device security through their existing Microsoft Entra ID Conditional Access policies
For years, cybersecurity teams have poured effort into crafting airtight access policies in Microsoft Entra ID — only to hit a wall when the device requesting access isn’t one they actually control. That gap has left contractor laptops and personal phones as a persistent weak point. Now, Ensure Endpoint Technologies is betting that a lightweight, user-installed agent can close it without forcing IT to take over the hardware.

BOCA RATON, FL, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Ensure Endpoint Technologies today announced the availability of PosturePass in Microsoft Marketplace, the unified online destination for customers to find, try, and buy trusted cloud solutions, AI apps, and agents. Microsoft customers can now discover and purchase PosturePass through Microsoft Marketplace, alongside the Microsoft products it works with.
Regulated industries carry a heavy burden when it comes to managing risk from outsiders. Contractors, third-party vendors, and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) users all represent potential entry points, and rules like the Digital Operational Resilience Act and NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500 have sharpened the spotlight on third-party technology and access risk.
The problem is that these devices are often hard to evaluate. The company doesn’t own them — they might be personal gadgets or machines already enrolled in another firm’s management system. Pushing them into a corporate device-management platform isn’t always realistic.
Many organizations have tried to work around this by relying on virtual desktop infrastructure. That approach keeps corporate apps and data away from the endpoint, but it drags in a whole extra environment that has to be run and supported.
PosturePass offers a different path.
Contractors handle the setup themselves by installing a lightweight application. There’s no need for device-management enrollment, admin rights, or opening an IT ticket.
Once installed, PosturePass evaluates whether the device meets the organization’s standards for disk encryption, antivirus protection, firewall status, operating system patches, remote access software, and password policy. If a check fails, the user gets a clear view of what’s wrong and how to fix it.
After the device clears the checks, PosturePass sends a compliance signal to Microsoft Entra ID. From there, the organization’s existing Conditional Access policies can factor that signal into their access decisions.
Checks run on an ongoing basis, and PosturePass never manages, locks, or takes administrative control of the device.
The tool is already in use across thousands of contractor and third-party devices at regulated enterprises in insurance and financial services. In those deployments, roughly one-quarter of devices fail at least one security check during the initial rollout. Most of those are brought back into compliance by their owners without needing help-desk assistance.
PosturePass supports access to applications protected by Microsoft Entra ID, including Microsoft 365, Windows 365, and Azure Virtual Desktop. The technology behind it is protected by six granted U.S. patents. Organizations can buy PosturePass through Microsoft Marketplace, including via private offers.
“Enterprises have spent years building strong access policies in Microsoft Entra ID, but those policies cannot evaluate the posture of a device that cannot be enrolled,” said Ebba Blitz, co-founder and CEO of Ensure Endpoint Technologies. “PosturePass provides that missing signal without asking anyone to surrender control of a computer the enterprise does not own. Availability in Microsoft Marketplace puts that within reach of every organization already running on Microsoft.”
“We’re pleased to welcome PosturePass to Microsoft Marketplace,” said Cyril Belikoff, vice president, Microsoft Azure Product Marketing. “Marketplace connects trusted solutions from global partners with customers worldwide, making it easy to find and deploy apps that work seamlessly with Microsoft products.”
Microsoft Marketplace is a single destination to find, try, and buy trusted cloud solutions, AI apps, and agents to meet your business objectives.

Why it matters: As regulators tighten the screws on third-party access, tools like PosturePass give enterprises a way to enforce security standards on devices they don’t own — without the operational drag of VDI. The Microsoft Marketplace listing removes a procurement hurdle, making it easier for existing Microsoft shops to close a gap that has long been a quiet entry point for attackers.
