Olmsted Medical Center (OMC) and Enara Health have announced a new partnership designed to enhance patient access to physician-directed obesity treatment in Rochester, Minnesota. This initiative, known as Enara at Olmsted Medical Center, introduces a virtual, customized care approach that supplements OMC’s existing WHOLEyou program, thereby broadening the spectrum of obesity services throughout southeastern Minnesota.
The WHOLEyou Shared Medical Appointment model—involving structured group sessions that merge clinical knowledge, dietary advice, and mutual support—underscores Olmsted Medical Center’s enduring dedication to addressing obesity as a chronic illness. This partnership expands upon that dedication by offering a virtual, one-on-one pathway for patients who favor individual attention or encounter obstacles to attending in person.
Across its nationwide network of partners, Enara Health has established one of the most impressive track records in outpatient obesity medicine, utilizing a virtual, individualized clinical framework. Collectively, WHOLEyou and Enara at Olmsted Medical Center create a comprehensive care spectrum: patients can select between options based on personal preference and medical suitability, all within Olmsted Medical Center’s system. Clinicians at each of the 25 Olmsted Medical Center sites can directly refer patients to the Enara program.
From the very start, every patient enrolled in the program is assigned a dedicated team—including obesity medicine physicians, exercise physiologists, nutrition experts, and behavioral health counselors—all operating from a unified treatment plan. The Enara application ensures this team remains accessible between appointments. Care strategies are developed initially, with medication incorporated when clinical circumstances warrant it.
This program is covered by most major insurance plans accepted at Olmsted Medical Center—such as UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Partners, Medica, Aetna, and Medicare—enabling numerous patients to receive this specialized care as part of their insurance benefits.
