Sound-focused technology and product portfolio bolsters wildlife deterrence offerings
Now that we’ve brought SoundGard into the TransGard portfolio, we can continue expanding our applications, and providing the long-term innovation and support our customers expect.”— Bill Marks, Vice President of Sales, TransGardYORK, PA, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — TransGard has announced the purchase of the Soundscape™ technology platform, its associated intellectual property, and product line from Guardian Technologies Group.
Under the SoundGard™ brand, the product line will remain in production, broadening TransGard’s range of wildlife mitigation offerings for sectors including electric utilities, industrial sites, transportation networks, telecommunications, renewable energy, and other critical infrastructure markets.
This acquisition extends a previously successful exclusive partnership between the two firms and transfers ownership of the established technology to TransGard.
TransGard has acted as the sole commercial partner for the SoundGard™ system, bringing the technology to clients looking for a humane, evidence-based method of controlling problem birds and wildlife.
The SoundGard™ system employs Guardian's Soundscape™ technology, which works by masking wildlife communication, making the treated area unsuitable for habitation or roosting. Unlike conventional scare sounds that merely prompt animals to relocate temporarily while they evaluate the danger, SoundGard™ provides a scientifically grounded, non-lethal method that consistently repels birds and other nuisance wildlife from the protected zone across diverse environments.
“I first saw what SoundGard could do during a 2024 Kansas State University study that paired our laser bird defense system with Guardian’s Soundscape technology,” said Bill Marks, Vice President of Sales at TransGard. “The results were compelling. Since then, we’ve seen customers trial the technology and many have gone on to add it to their wildlife mitigation systems. Now that we’ve brought SoundGard into the TransGard portfolio, we can continue investing in the technology, expand its applications, and provide the long-term innovation and support our customers expect.”
The technology underpinning SoundGard™ was developed over five-plus years of R&D and is backed by over 20 university studies. It is deployed to safeguard substations, industrial plants, warehouses, communication towers, transportation hubs, distribution centers, and other critical infrastructure where wildlife activity leads to operational disruptions, contamination, and higher maintenance needs.
This acquisition bolsters TransGard's standing as a full-service provider of wildlife mitigation solutions. When paired with the company's Animal Fence Systems and Laser Bird Defense offerings, SoundGard™ enhances TransGard's capacity to assist clients in tackling various wildlife issues using complementary technologies customized to specific locations and operational needs.
